About the Drift Tutors

Being a Drift Tutor isn’t just about being an excellent driver! Our tutors are experienced judges who have a sharp eye for detail. Patient and easy-going, our tutors are able to put anyone at ease and help them get the best out of their car. Each of our tutors had been teaching people and supporting them at drift events long before DriftTutor was started. They are all very helpful by nature and enjoy working hard and helping people to get better at their game. Our tutors are Chris “Paz” Parry, Ben “Bon Bon” Broke-Smith and Dan Chapman.

Chris ParryChris 'Paz' Parry

Chris Parry - a.k.a. "Paz"

"SVA Challenge Cup Champ, BIG X Night Fight Winner, All Star Drift Champ, known for his flat out, full throttle aggressive drift style!"

Paz was one of the founders of drifting in the UK and has been drifting for 8 years. In this time he has had many competition wins and podium positions. Paz has been interviewed and featured in programs on the BBC, ITV and MotorsTV and he has also been featured in numerous magazines and publications over the years, all stemming from his drifting and car building.

Paz learned how to drift in good old fashioned RWD AE86 Toyota Corolla’s with a relatively low Horse Power level.  Learning in these cars proved to be fun and challenging, and also a great tool for learning more advanced drifting techniques as the low powered nature of the car forces the driver to try that bit harder to keep up with the more powerful cars.

"There aren't many AE86's in the EDC, but luckily Paz makes up for it with both the quality of his car and his aggressive driving style" - Mike Garrett, Speedhunters

As well as drifting, Paz also enjoys circuit and track day driving and can often be found heading out to Germany to tackle the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife in his M3 for the ultimate challenge!

After having a motocross accident last winter and needing serious foot surgery Paz has been taking a break from driving himself and so far this year he’s been one of the judges of JDM Allstars and working as pit crew for fellow team mate Phil Morrison. He has just bought an S14 Nissan and intends to start up on the driving again now his right foot seems to be recovering. - Check out his blog here!

Ben ‘Bon Bon’ Broke-Smith

"EDC Champion 2008, an international drifter with numerous podium wins - renowned for his smokey and exciting drifting style!"

Winning the 2008 European Drifting Championship and finishing on the podium of the 2009 Prodrift Super Series has put Ben Broke-Smith amongst the absolute European drifting elite. His countless podium finishes over the last 5 years combined with his exciting and aggressive driving style has made him a favourite amongst fans and competitors alike.

Having worked his way through the ranks of international drifting in the last 5 years, Ben has first-hand experience of the multi faceted sport of drifting: From being a privateer to becoming a professional drift driver representing Driftworks on the global drifting scene. Through competing all over Europe in ever changing conditions, Ben has developed the skills to adapt to the situation as required.

"Not only is his car really cool, but Ben is an amazing driver as well!” - Mike Garrett, Speedhunters

Thanks to his competition successes, Ben is licensed to compete internationally, including in Formula D, having already competed in the 2008 Red Bull Drifting World Championship held in Long Beach, California.

Dan Chapman

"2008 rookie of the year, 2009 Driver Of The Year, winner of JDM Allstars at Wembley, known for his crazy speed and angle!"

Dan Chapman has been on the Car of The Year Show teaching three celebs how to do basic skids, he was interviewed by the presenter on the Guinness World Records TV show where he told them about drifting and what it was, and was one of the drivers involved in the world record. Finishing 2nd overall in the JDM Allstars Triple Crown Series 2008 and 2009, voted as the “Driver of the Year” 2009 and featured in the popular Touge Heroes DVD  – Dan looks set to be among the best of UK drifting. Currently for 2010 he is doing very well in the JDM AllStars series and he took a much deserved win on Round 2!

Dan’s career started in pro level kart racing for ten years, and from there progressed to racing different types of race cars to get a feel for what’s out there and to expand his skills. Dan took a very strong interest in drifting as he felt he could partake more at the events, driving and supporting, meeting up with good friends and watch crazy action! The appeal of drifting is “that you can push yourself harder, your car harder, create your own style and look....and you don’t have to be wealthy to make drifting a hobby”. What motivates Dan? The desire to constantly improve upon his skills, be as good as he can be and help drifting grow as a sport.

"Dan’s unique street drift style and nigh on unmatchable speeds make him a hell of difficult driver to race against" – Touge Heroes
